SecurityKISS: Is it Closed Forever?
Not so long ago, in May 2020, another VPN service was closed down. This time I stopped working with SecurityKISS clients.
Is this really the final closure, or will the service be back? After all, today’s use of Virtual Private Network (VPN) for hiding IP addresses, encrypting transmitted data, torrenting, streaming, and other tasks are only gaining popularity.
SecurityKISS was founded in 2010 and has been one of the few free VPN services all along.
It has lasted more than most of the strongest VPNs to date.
What caused the closure?
I conducted a study of the company's activities and came to a disappointing conclusion for all free anonymization services – low-quality services (typical of all completely free providers) are no longer in demand.
It has become almost impossible to use modern Internet at speeds that are inherent in such providers. Streaming video, torrenting, online radio, and much more require a good connection speed and stability. Saving on VPN is already making things too difficult.
And this isn’t the only reason for the closure of SecurityKISS.
It is also important that the old “dirty” schemes for monetizing free services are now unthinkable. It is almost impossible to distribute fake antiviruses, adware, and other prohibited programs. Legal ways of earning such services don’t bring enough profit if the service doesn’t have a paid subscription.
So will SecurityKISS reopen?
I believe the time has come for affordable and quality VPNs like Surfshark VPN. It always has high speed, 100% security, no ads, and many additional features.
The future belongs to such services.
Reviews of SecurityKISS
It can be seen from them that the provider was active until 2015. Then things began to decline. People began to pay attention to vulnerabilities (a DNS leak was discovered in 2017).
There are no more recent reviews.
